Guide to Miami Airport

Miami is one among the most prosperous and popular cities in the United States of America. Nicknamed the "Magic City", it is known for pleasant beaches, one of a kind culture and amazing diversity.

Miami International Airport, abbreviated as MIA, is Southern Florida’s important hub for international flights, and a major connecting link for flights between Latin America, the USA and Caribbean. On a daily basis, more than 100 airlines operate from this airport to connect about 150 destinations across the world.

The aerodrome is constructed with a central terminal structure that extends into eight forecourts. Named in the order A-H, they cater various airlines and are equipped with passenger friendly services like bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Loungers, ATMs, post offices and business service centres are also located throughout the airport for additional convenience.

The airport is conveniently located well within the city and at a close proximity from the Central Business District. It is well connected to the city through Super Shuttle, Metro bus and taxis.

The year 2012 saw restructuring of the ground transportation of MIA and the introduction of Miami Central Station. The station at a distance of about a mile and half to the east of airport operates an elevated train, known as the MIA mover to connect the main terminal building.

Super shuttle and cab services are available outside the arrivals. Bus connectivity to this airport is by means of Miami Dade Metro bus that lies at Level 1 of Concourse E.

Simple and secure rental cars are available at Miami Central Station. Multi level car parks are available for short and long term parking that are located inside the airport and connected to the terminal by means of overhead walkways.

Various locations within the airport are equipped with Wi-Fi and data port connections. There are two auditoriums with multimedia facilities that can be availed for meetings and conferences. One of the notable features of this airport is the introduction of currency exchange facility booths that can be found at different locations.
